We are committed to supporting the community

KRP is dedicated to supporting the community through active involvement in various initiatives. Our philosophy is rooted in the idea that giving back to the community strengthens our employees, the public, as well as our foundation.

KRP currently donates to a number of charitable organizations. We make a conscious effort to distribute our time, energy and resources among numerous groups so that several causes may benefit.

Alberta Pianofest

Our firm has been a major sponsor of the Alberta Pianofest since 2011. Alberta Pianofest was founded in 2011 with a goal of assisting high level classical pianists between the ages of 13 to 18 years. These talented young artists are brought together with four internationally known professional concert pianists for a ten day workshop each summer at Rundles Mission near Pigeon Lake Alberta. In addition, the guest artists present concerts at venues in Pigeon Lake and Edmonton. Our partner Mr. Barth Bradley FCPA, FCA was one of the founding members of this Society.

KRP Golf Classic

The KRP Golf Classic has been a fixture for women golfers from the Edmonton area since the late 1960's when it was conceived by two Alberta Hall of Fame Golfers – Mrs. Hazel Jamison (inducted 1980) and Mr. Babe McAvoy (inducted 2009). It started as the Alberta Ladies’ Cal-Bev Challenge Cup and has had a number of sponsors as detailed in the following page of prior year winners. Since its inception it has had many prominent Alberta golfers as participants, including: Hall of Famers: Hazel Jamison and Betty Stanhope-Cole to former tour player Heather Lee and the first ever female president (2011) of Golf Canada, Karen Rackel.

Each year a different private club is the host of the finals and this year it is at the Glendale Golf and Country Club.  Our participating courses also include Belvedere Golf and Country Club, Highlands Golf Club, Derrick Golf and Winter Club, Royal Mayfair Golf & Country , Windermere Golf and Country Club, Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club, Edmonton Country Club, and Blackhawk Golf Club. The competition is structured as four ball match play with the lowest 64 handicap teams qualifying for the tournament. Matches begin in May and are played throughout the summer with finals each year in September.

This year's final will be hosted by Highlands Golf Club on September 8th 2019.

Kids Kottage Foundation

KRP is a proud sponsor of the Kids Kottage Foundation. The Kids Kottage is Edmonton’s first and only crisis nursery. The Kids Kottage operates a 12-bed crisis nursery in North-Edmonton. It opened in 1995 with a mandate to prevent child abuse and neglect before it becomes a way of life.  They offer 24-hour service to parents who need their support. During a time of crisis, they keep children safe, and work with parents during and after their children's stay with them - to help them strengthen their family and give their children and themselves a strong, safe and healthy environment.
