Unique challenges
First Nation and Métis organizations and their respective for-profit businesses, not-for-profit organizations and Trusts face complex reporting issues, tax regulations, financial ecosystems, and legislation that create a challenging operating environment.
KRP has vast experience working with First Nation and Métis clients. We’ve learned a great deal about your unique needs and challenges through building strong relationships and having open conversations with our clients.
We are proud to count amongst our clients' Indigenous-owned businesses, First Nations, their Trusts, Not-for-profit societies, First Nation-owned businesses, Tribal Councils, societies and postsecondary institutions. We assist businesses operating on-reserve and off-reserve owned by either First Nations, Indigenous peoples, or both. We have significant expertise with the reporting requirements, tax exemption considerations, and GST subtleties that come into play in these situations.
KRP works hard to create an inclusive environment at our firm. Three of our partners are members of Indigenous nations, and we actively recruit student interns from First Nations and Métis organizations to expose youth to professional accounting environments.
