Current Status:

Winnie has specialized in the practice of Consulting & Internal Auditing for over 17 years, of which 13 of those years has been as the Senior Manager, Consulting & Special Projects at Kingston Ross Pasnak LLP.  She brings an array of experience to her role as a Senior Consulting & Special Projects Manager at KRP from her past roles as: the Consulting and Internal Audit Manager for two business lines of Weyerhaeuser which comprised approximately 70 locations across Canada and the United States; a senior consultant/auditor for Stantec Inc.; a senior auditor for the Office of the Auditor General of Alberta working with the Health and Advanced Education sectors; and as an auditor in an international accounting firm.  From these roles, she has brought to her consulting role at KRP extensive knowledge and experience in preparing and performing global risk assessments, preparing audit plans and procedures, training and supervising consulting and internal audit staff.  Winnie has authored Internal Control and Risk Management courses and taught for the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and of Manitoba, and served as a Director on the Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

  • Consulting services such as writing an Audit Committee Charter for clients and providing advice and training to their audit committees on corporate governance;
  • Consulting services to write legislation incorporating internal controls for energy providers for Alberta Energy;
  • Experienced consultant with over 11 years of experience analyzing amongst project alternatives, making and presenting recommendations to management and report writing;
  • Senior consultant on business case development teams responsible for preparing value for money assessments to compare project alternatives, including P3 alternatives; and,
  • Facilitated senior management teams from multi-disciplines to obtain project buy-in, prepare project plans, obtain project direction, give interim project progress reports, discuss issues and alternative solutions, bring consensus to move projects forward, and make recommendations for senior management to select from.
